League history

For generations, the Jodie Harrison Basketball League has brought young athletes, families, and volunteer coaches together at The Community House each winter.

Named in memory of longtime Hinsdale Central basketball coach and athletic director Jodie Harrison, the league carries forward his belief in mastering the fundamentals, enjoying the game, and helping young athletes grow both on and off the court.

Today, the tradition continues from Kindergarten through 8th grade, welcoming players of all experience levels. With an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun, Jodie Harrison Basketball provides a place for athletes to build confidence, make friendships, and develop a lifelong love of the game.

For more than 20 years, The Community House Flag Football League has brought young athletes, families, and volunteer coaches together for one of our community’s favorite fall traditions.

Designed to give players the excitement of football without the contact, our league emphasizes safety, skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun. From first-time players learning the game to experienced athletes ready to compete, there’s a place on the field for everyone.

Today, hundreds of boys and girls take the field each fall, representing NFL teams, building friendships, and creating memories that extend far beyond the final whistle.

More than football, it’s where teams are built, confidence grows, and our community comes together.
